Overheating While Driving
We have seen Volkswagen coolant leaks time and time again and it seems like the most common issue we come across. The top coolant issues are the coolant flange, radiator, coolant hoses, water pump, and heater hoses. When the coolant starts to leak out of the system, the vehicle doesn't contain enough fluid to keep the engine cool enough while operating. This is why your vehicle will start to overheat while driving, there is not enough coolant in the system. In order to effectively identify where the coolant leak is coming from, we perform a coolant pressure test. This pressurizes the system causing coolant to leak out of the failed component. Once we identify what has failed, we thoroughly inspect the rest of the system to provide an accurate estimate for repairs. This problem can "snow ball" and cause other issues if not attended to as soon as possible. If you continually drive your vehicle while it overheats you can blow your engine which is a financial nightmare.
Volkswagen Oil Leak
Is your Volkswagen leaking oil? You may notice your vehicle becomes low on oil before the next oil change is due. This is usually a sign there is an issue. You may also smell oil burning or even see some smoke residue coming from under the hood. This is caused when the oil leaks and the fluid lands on something that is hot. An example is when the oil will leak on the exhaust, causing a smell and smoke from the chemical reaction. The oil leaks can be from the valve cover gaskets, timing chain cover gaskets, and camshaft seals to name a few common issues.
