Toyota Oil Consumption Problems

Oil Consumption problems are never fun to deal with and just how much oil are we talking about? A lot of customers may experience the "oil pressure" light come on. They could also experience the "low oil" light before their next oil change it due. To start, we need to determine where the oil is going. In 2011, Toyota issued a technical service bulletin which says, "Some 2006-2011 model year vehicles equipped with the 2AZ-FE engine may exhibit engine oil consumption". We inspect the under hood compartment and under the vehicle for any signs of oil leaks and when we determine the vehicle is not leaking we start with the oil consumption test process. Oil consumption problems are typically costly. You either keep adding oil to the vehicle or you fix the problem by doing internal engine repairs, sometimes replacing the engine completely.
